Temporal interpolation of real-time cine images for ventricular function assessment

چکیده
Background In uncooperative patients or in presence of arrhythmia, real-time free-breathing cine MR approaches may offer an alternative to well-established segmented data acquisition strategies [1,2]. Segmented acquisition strategies collect data throughout a number of heartbeats and typically a fixed number of cardiac phases are reconstructed for each slice representing an average RR interval. In real-time cine imaging, the number of reconstructed phases may be different for each slice due to heart rate variations. However, it is desirable to reconstruct a predefined number of cardiac phases per slice to facilitate functional analysis and processing. In this work, we present an image reconstruction approach that retrospectively interpolates real-time cine images to calculate a predefined number of cardiac phases per heartbeat and slice. Ejection fraction is compared between segmented cine images and interpolated realtime cine images in healthy volunteers.

Highly accelerated real-time cardiac cine MRI using k-t SPARSE-SENSE.
For patients with impaired breath-hold capacity and/or arrhythmias, real-time cine MRI may be more clinically useful than breath-hold cine MRI. However, commercially available real-time cine MRI methods using parallel imaging typically yield relatively poor spatio-temporal resolution due to their low image acquisition speed. We sought to achieve relatively high spatial resolution (∼2.5 × 2.5 mm...

متن کاملAssessment of Left Ventricular Function and Mass on Free-Breathing Compressed Sensing Real-Time Cine Imaging.
BACKGROUND Compressed sensing (CS) cine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has the advantage of being inherently insensitive to respiratory motion. This study compared the accuracy of free-breathing (FB) CS and breath-hold (BH) standard cine MRI for left ventricular (LV) volume assessment. Methods and Results:Sixty-three patients underwent cine MRI with both techniques. Both types of images were a...
متن کاملRapid left ventricular function MRI with an accelerated real-time-based spiral acquisition
Background Breath-held (BH) cardiac cine MRI is a widely used technique for the assessment of cardiac left ventricular (LV) function. Image quality can be severely compromised in subjects who cannot perform the required breath holds or in subjects with arrhythmia. Additionally, the series of breath holds required for full ventricular coverage leads to prolonged exam times. These drawbacks can b...
متن کاملHigh spatial and temporal resolution cardiac cine MRI from retrospective reconstruction of data acquired in real time using motion correction and resorting.
Cine MRI is used for assessing cardiac function and flow and is typically based on a breath-held, segmented data acquisition. Breath holding is particularly difficult for patients with congestive heart failure or in pediatric cases. Real-time imaging may be used without breath holding or ECG triggering. However, despite the use of rapid imaging sequences and accelerated parallel imaging, real-t...
